Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe today underlines its commitment to cycling coverage, content and communities by revealing its grand plans for the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta Femenina – the first Grand Tour races of the cycling season.
The world’s greatest riders are poised to push beyond breaking point in one of the most challenging feats of sporting endurance. Their quest to become immortalised in cycling history by competing for the Giro d’Italia’s eminent never-ending trophy and its prestigious pink jersey will begin on 9 May as stage one departs from Albania for the first time in 108 editions.
WBD will show all 21 stages of the Corsa Rosa live, comprising 110 hours of action, across Europe, Asia and the USA with exclusivity in more than 50 markets*. Premium and local linear coverage will be broadly available on TNT Sports (UK and Ireland) and Eurosport (Europe and Asia) coupled with uninterrupted streaming of every kilometre on Max (Europe and USA) and discovery+ (Austria, Italy, Germany and the UK).
New for 2025, fans streaming on Max and discovery+ can take advantage of in-app innovations such as timeline markers, which highlight unmissable moments from the race such as sprints or attacks, so viewers can easily catch-up on any race action missed. Fans watching on Max and discovery+** can also choose a new multi-camera second-screen option with a selection of three different motorcycle cameras and a helicopter camera providing breathtaking panoramic shots of the race during each stage.
WBD’s free-to-air to channels in Germany (Eurosport 1) and Denmark (Kanal 5) will also cover every stage of the Giro d’Italia live with daily highlights available for free viewing in the UK (Quest). Expanding the storytelling to the widest possible audience, a whole host of highlights, exclusive interviews and bonus content will be available across TNT Sports Cycling YouTube channel, TNTSports.co.uk and Eurosport.com (mainland Europe).
Getting to the heart of the action by telling the stories of the riders both on-site across Italy and from its state-of-the-art virtual studios, local analysis shows will be produced for viewers in the UK and Ireland (The Breakaway), France (Les Rois de la Pédale) Germany (Velo Club), the Netherlands (Kop Over Kop), Spain (La Montonera) featuring a consummate cast of cycling experts in presentation roles. These include:

Scott Young, Group SVP Content, Production and Business Operations at WBD Sports Europe, said: “As the Home of Cycling, we have made it our mission to uncover every story from this captivating sport to serve superfans while reaching new audiences through our all-platform approach. In a golden era for the sport, the level of performance from the incredible athletes giving everything on the road has never been higher and it’s our privilege to tell their stories for our viewers wherever they are, and however they are following the action.
“There is no greater story in cycling than a Grand Tour campaign and we will be there every step of the way with wall-to-wall coverage of every stage and every rider in the men’s and women’s peloton. Through the combination of premium production quality, rich storytelling, and expert insights from some of the sport’s most accomplished heroes, we know this powerful package of cycling coverage and content will delight and entertain new and old fans alike.”
Jens Voigt, WBD cycling expert, added: “The general saying is ‘the Grand Tour makes the hero, not the hero makes the Grand Tour’. There are 23 teams, full of incredibly talented riders. They’ve trained for weeks, for months, to be ready. It’s a fantastic field, and it’s going to be a thrilling, exciting three weeks.
With the defending champion Tadej Pogacar (Slovenia) choosing to relinquish his crown, the Giro d’Italia is set to deliver a nail-biting contest this year. The 2023 winner Primoz Roglic (Slovenia) will be fighting to reclaim his title with rising stars Juan Ayuso (Spain) and Antonio Tiberi (Italy) set to challenge the established names this season.
In tandem with its coverage of the Giro, La Vuelta Femenina kickstarted the women’s Grand Tour season with WBD continuing to cover every stage live until the final stage on 10 May for viewers across Europe. Dani Rowe and Marty MacDonald are providing commentary as the 749-kilometre race for the renowned red jersey began in Barcelona with a team time trial before traversing northern Spain over seven stages. Last year’s winner Demi Vollering (Netherlands) is defending her title amidst fierce competition from the Tour de France Femmes and Giro Donne champions - Kasia Niewiadoma (Poland) and Elisa Longo Borghini (Italy).
Grand Tour cycling coverage is a critical component of WBD’s streaming offer on Max and discovery+.
