FIM SPEEDWAY AND ENDURANCE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MOTORBIKE EVENTS TAKEN ON BY NEW PROMOTERS

- FIM Speedway (SGP, SON & SWC) will be promoted by Mayfield Sports Events Ltd and FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) by PHA after taking over from Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe from next season
- WBD Sports Europe will continue in its role as global broadcaster and distributer
- Organisations will work together to continue the growth of elite motorbike racing
Today the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) announces that two new promoters will take over from Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe in marketing and promoting FIM Speedway and FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) from next season.
Working with the FIM, Mayfield Sports Events Ltd will take on global promotional responsibility for the FIM Speedway GP until 2031, Speedway of Nations and Speedway World Cup while Philibert et Associes (PHA), associated with Automobile Club de L’Ouest (ACO) and EDITIONS LARIVIÈRE, will promote the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC).
The move enables WBD Sports Europe to focus on its core business of broadcasting and distributing the series to a global audience through its broad portfolio of owned and operated channels and platforms in addition to partnerships with other leading broadcasters around the world.
The new collaborations will drive the continued growth of motorbike racing, serving superfans while creating new opportunities to reach and engage an even broader set of viewers.
There will be no change to the broadcast availability of either FIM Speedway or FIM EWC. Both series will continue to reach millions of viewers through WBD’s channels and platforms such as its streaming services HBO Max and discovery+ in Europe and USA; via its linear channels including Eurosport in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region and TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland; as well as widely accessible coverage through WBD’s sub-license partnerships.
Jorge Viegas, FIM President, said: “Following several years of a very positive relationship with the FIM, WBD Sports has decided to focus on their core business and therefore will not promote both the FIM Speedway World Championship and the FIM Endurance World Championship in the future.
“These championships are amongst two of the most important FIM competitions and such we have worked hard since last year to find new, reliable and competent promoters. We are delighted and proud to now be able to announce our new partners. With this in mind, I would like to thank WBD Sports and all its collaborators who have worked with the FIM, we wish them all the success with their new activities.”
Scott Young, EVP at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said: “This change enables us to refocus our efforts on our core business, which is scaling coverage of FIM Speedway and FIM EWC to the widest possible audience while telling the stories of the sports, teams and riders. We are proud of the work we have done as promoter and remain committed to working with the FIM and all our partners to continue growing motorbike sports and helping them to reach new and larger audiences in our role as global broadcaster.
“On behalf of everyone at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, we warmly thank the FIM and all stakeholders involved in supporting us to organise and promote these exciting two championships. We also congratulate all riders and teams who have offered speedway or endurance motorbike fans an incredible show, which was a privilege for us to promote, and will continue to be a privilege for us to broadcast.”
PHA Claude Michy said: “Following the decision of WBD and at the request of FIM President Jorge Viegas, the organisers PHA, the ACO and Larivière editions came together to combine their resources and skills to become the new promoter of the EWC endurance world championship in order to develop and promote this discipline”.
Richard Coleman at Mayfield Sports Events Ltd, said: “It is an honour and a pleasure to return to a sport that I followed as soon as I was old enough to be at trackside with my friends. I recently attended the OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia – Riga, meeting fans from around the world, and their passion and love for speedway made me even more certain that this is a great opportunity for the Mayfield team.
“We look forward to engaging with all stakeholders – fans, riders, sponsors, local organisers, national federations, officials and, of course, our partners at the FIM – to improve the show and develop the sport at all levels. As well as putting fans at the heart of what we do, delivering breathtaking action for those watching live at the stadium and at home, we are determined to ensure FIM Speedway has an exciting and sustainable future. We cannot wait to deliver a fantastic season of FIM Speedway action in 2026.”
Based at the heart of British motor racing near Silverstone, Mayfield is a company steeped in motorsport heritage, with vast experience in sports contested on both two wheels and four, including Formula 1, MotoGP, British and World Touring Cars. Mayfield previously joined forces with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports to organise the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff at the storied Principality Stadium in both 2023 and 2024, winning the FIM Speedway Local Organiser of the Year prize in 2023.
WBD Sports Europe has shown the Endurance World Championship, including the 24H Motos from Le Mans, in full since 2008 and has promoted the series since 2015. Its affiliation with speedway spans more than two decades after Eurosport first began producing pan-European coverage of the sport in 2003, and since 2022 it has been the promoter of the FIM Speedway.
*HBO Max currently shows live sport in 38 markets in Europe ahead of it launching in new markets including Austria; Germany; Italy; the UK and Ireland in early 2026 – the latter of which will become the streaming home of TNT Sports.
