“YOUR OLYMPICS. YOUR WAY.” NEW WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY CAMPAIGN SHOWCASES THE POWER OF CHOICE FOR MILANO CORTINA 2026
As the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina draws ever closer, Warner Bros. Discovery has released its anthem spot that captures the essence of fervent, patriotic support as well as experiencing the Olympics on its channels and platforms.
Developed by Warner Bros. Discovery’s in-house creative team in collaboration with award-winning director Bart Timmer, the 60-second promo forms part of a wider 360-degree campaign ahead of next month’s Olympic Winter Games and airs from 16 January 2026. The spot will feature on WBD’s owned and operated linear, social and digital platforms across Europe.
The film is set in an Alpine mountain village with local villagers waiting in anticipation for one of their own countryman to compete at the Olympic Winter Games. In the opening scene the viewer is introduced to different characters from the village - we meet the proud “Nonna”, who’s grandson is competing; a nervous baker making Olympic-themed treats; while families and neighbours watch on. As the atmosphere in the village reaches fever pitch, the locals gather to watch the curling live ahead of the first stone being thrown. However, disaster strikes when the broadcast inexplicably cuts to the alpine skiing.
All seems lost, until a quick-thinking young local switches to WBD’s streaming service HBO Max, which being the platform that delivers the ultimate Olympic experience for millions of fans across Europe, restores curling coverage with the crowd erupting in joy as their hometown hero makes a perfect shot.
David Bernard-Bret, Vice President – Marketing, WBD Sports Europe, said: “For Milano Cortina 2026, we saw an opportunity to reimagine how fans experience the Olympics - bringing a fresh perspective to an event we all cherish. Our global campaign is designed to get European fans hooked on HBO Max by giving them what they’ve been asking for: real choice and control.
“‘Your Olympics. Your Way.’ isn’t just a tagline - it’s a promise. This time, fans get to follow the action wherever it takes them. I’m especially proud that this campaign was conceived and crafted entirely in-house by our brilliant creative and marketing teams. It’s a true reflection of our passion for sport, storytelling, and putting fans first.”
Coverage from the Olympic Winter Games will be included in all streaming packages on HBO Max in Europe - including Italy and Germany for the first time. Coverage will also be available on discovery+* in selected territories (tiering for each market broadcasting the Olympic Winter Games on discovery+ is outlined in the Notes to Editor below), maximising access for millions of fans with all 116 medal events broadcast live.
Live coverage of Milano Cortina 2026 will begin with the round-robin stages of the mixed-doubles curling competition from Wednesday 4 February with the Opening Ceremony taking place two days later at the iconic sporting cathedral theatre, the San Siro. Milano-Cortina 2026 will be the first Games in Warner Bros. Discovery's new rights cycle, announced in 2023 in collaboration with the EBU and International Olympic Committee (IOC), covering the next four Games that includes LA 2028, French Alps 2030 and Brisbane 2032.
