The Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth triple jump gold medallist will be the international anchor of some of the greatest sporting events on the calendar, hosted exclusively by Eurosport. Jonathan, who still holds the triple jump World Record that he claimed in 1995, will host Eurosport’s flagship programming and make his debut this May at the European Aquatics Championships in London (9–22 May), and present exclusively for Eurosport from January 2017.

Jonathan’s role will also see him at the forefront of Eurosport’s coverage of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, following last year’s announcement by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that it had awarded all TV and multiplatform broadcast rights in Europe to Discovery and Eurosport for the 2018-2024 Olympic Games. Eurosport viewers will be able to enjoy Jonathan both track-side at live events, and as the host of Eurosport’s interview and documentary programming.

Combined with his view from the field and in front of the camera, Jonathan brings a unique perspective and understanding of the Games from his previous role on the board of the London 2012 Organising Committee, where he was the organiser’s athlete representative – the highest profile ex athlete in a senior position outside of the Chairman.

Awarded the MBE in 1996 and the CBE in 2001 in recognition of his achievements, since retiring from athletics Jonathan has made a name for himself as one of the finest sport presenters. He is renowned for his ability to cut to the heart of a story, help the top stars express themselves around the heat of battle and successfully convey the excitement of sport to fans at home.

At home at the heart of the Olympic Family, Jonathan has also presented many high profile International Olympic Committee broadcasts in recent years, including the Host City announcements since Sochi 2014.
