Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) today announces that all three episodes of its original docuseries chronicling Defender Rally’s quest to conquer the Dakar Rally will be available to viewers worldwide from 15 May.
Debuting in the Stock class, Defender Rally’s ambitions are fuelled by prodigious motorsport talent Sara Price, who won 17 national motorcross championships before switching to four-wheel racing. She is the central protagonist alongside teammates Stéphane Peterhansel and Rokas Baciuška and their story is told in three 45-minute episodes offering unprecedented behind-the-scenes access at the toughest test in off-road motorsport.
Following the pre-race premiere of the first episode, the full series now brings together unseen footage from Defender Rally with exclusive interviews, fresh perspectives and thrilling race action to complete the story of their Dakar Rally attempt.
Narrated by Emmy-winning actress, author and activist Gillian Anderson OBE, the series will be available exclusively to millions of motorsport fans across Europe, Asia, USA and Latin America via WBD’s channels and platforms, supporting its live and motorsport content offering internationally.
Sara Price, driver for the Defender Rally team, said: "Being part of this documentary has given me the chance reflect on my journey to Defender Rally and my third Dakar entry. Motorsport has shaped my life in ways I’m still discovering, with the highs, the lows, the people who believed in me, and the lessons that I learnt the hard way. Sharing my story so openly is both humbling and motivating. I have sacrificed so much on my quest to win Dakar, which has made me push through the hard times and grateful for the good times. My hope is that viewers see not only the toughness of the Dakar Rally, but the resilience of the people behind it, and maybe even feel inspired to chase something they love with the same determination."
Scott Young, EVP at WBD Sports Europe, said: “The Dakar Rally is known for its brutal and exhilarating races across some of the planet’s most inhospitable environments, pushing teams and drivers to the absolute limit. As a global motorsport broadcaster committed to shining a light on these stories, we’re excited to go beyond the race action. The story of Sara and the commitment of the Defender team to compete in one of the toughest races on earth is enthralling content and we’re delighted to be able to share this with fans.”
Ian James, Team Principal of Defender Rally, said: “We are incredibly proud to see Defender Rally featured on a global stage through this documentary. It’s a powerful reflection of the dedication, resilience and unwavering determination shown by both our drivers and the entire team. Every challenge we faced at the 2026 Dakar Rally was met with a determination to succeed. Diving into Sara’s journey and understanding what she has gone through to reach her third Dakar Rally really just brings to life her unstoppable nature and we hope that audiences recognise her sheer talent as much as we do.”

Episode synopses
Episode one — Nothing is Given
Sara Price’s rise from motocross prodigy to Dakar Rally contender is a story of sacrifice, grit and belief. After becoming one of the dominant talents in women’s motorcross with 19 championship victories in USA, Sara sold her home, drained her savings and risked her financial security to chase the Dakar dream on four wheels. Competing for the first time with Defender Rally in 2026 should be her big breakthrough — until becoming stranded just 100km in to the 8,000km race puts her entire campaign in jeopardy.
Episode two — Won’t Back Down
A family send‑off sets the emotional tone before Dakar’s reality hits hard. Sara battles through an unlucky opening stage, repairs, penalties and the chaos of the first marathon stage. Week one becomes a test of resilience as she refuses to let early setbacks define her race and ultimate goal of becoming the first American woman to win Dakar.
Episode three — A Race of Two Halves
With a podium place still within reach, Sara attacks week two with precision and belief. Dakar’s dunes deliver fresh danger and drama but as the rally nears its end, the series reflects on the journey that shaped her. Backed by teammates that become family, relief, pride and pure exhaustion hit home at the finish line.
