THE ULTIMATE BIKE WEEKEND: GCN, GMBN AND EMBN JOIN FORCES WITH ZWIFT TO BRING THE GLOBAL BIKE FESTIVAL TO AUSTRIA THIS SUMMER
After two years on hold due to Covid, the long-awaited event is re-launched and set to give road, MTB and gravel fans a festival experience like no other
Tuesday 8 February, Bath UK: Cycling fans from all disciplines have the chance to experience a bike event like no other this summer, as Play Sports Network announces the re-launch of the Global Bike Festival presented by Zwift, with tickets available from today.
Hosted by the world’s biggest cycling content channels GCN, GMBN and EMBN, the festival will take place on June 16-19 2022 in the picturesque resort town of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, one of the most popular cycling regions in Austria. Combining epic riding across road, MTB and gravel with a packed schedule of entertainment suitable for the whole family, it’s set to bring biking enthusiasts of all levels the ultimate bike weekend with special guests, live DJs, tech talks, training tips and much more still to be announced.
As part of the new three year partnership, Zwift will be offering attendees of the Global Bike Festival exclusive in-game training content, with social and VIP rides for those looking to improve their fitness or ride with GCN, GMBN and EMBN presenters and other attendees before the festival. Further brand partners will be revealed in due course.
Global Bike Festival presented by Zwift gives cycling fans the chance to try different disciplines in one place thanks to Saalbach’s hundreds of kilometres of road routes, gravel tracks and mountain bike trails. Offering riding experiences suitable for all abilities alongside challenges and competitive features including a timed hill climb and an underground crit race circuit, even the most experienced of riders are guaranteed to see their skills tested.
Fans of the YouTube channels will also have the opportunity to be part of the audience for their favourite shows, including the GCN Show and GMBN’s Dirt Shed Show, filmed live in the festival village. With a full schedule of events running across the four days, guests can also participate in pub quizzes, Zwift race nights and enjoy film screenings, live music and entertainment from DJs including Krafty Kuts, DJ Yoda, Norman Jay MBE and Rob da Bank.
Guests can choose from a range of ticket and accommodation packages, with options for single or multi-day tickets and a range of hotels and apartments suitable for individuals and groups. Tickets are free for under 16s, and early bird rates are available until March 1. All bookings can be secured with a 25% deposit, and payment plans are available to spread the cost across four monthly payments.
