PLAYERS' CUT: NEW SERIES KICKS OFF WITH SIMONA HALEP

Simona Halep fans are in for a treat as Eurosport dedicates a week of nightly specials to the two-time Grand Slam champion.

The Halep-themed week is part of Players’ Cut – a new series which will see Eurosport 1 focus on the world’s best players for a whole week (Monday-Sunday, 7-10pm CET).

Players’ Cut kicks off on Monday 11th May with Halep and will feature 11 poignant matches that have defined her career to date; from taking on Maria Sharapova in her first Grand Slam final at Roland Garros in 2014, to dramatically defeating Sloane Stephens at the same tournament four years later to claim her maiden Major title.

Players’ Cut bids to tell the full story of Halep’s career so far, going beyond match footage with unique insights from the world number two herself as she reveals why these matches are so special to her.

The defending Wimbledon champion also returned to the Tennis Legends vodcast as a guest, alongside her ‘idol’ Justine Henin and hosts Mats Wilander and Boris Becker. The quartet of former world numer ones talked Grand Slam finals, positive mentality and tackling nerves.

The vodcast will be screened on Thursday’s episode and will also be available on Eurosport.com and YouTube.

Schedule:

Monday 11th May, from 7pm CEST - Halep v Maria Sharapova (2014 Roland Garros final)

Tuesday 12th May, from 7pm CEST - Halep v Karolina Pliskova (2017 Roland Garros semi-final) and Halep v Jelena Ostapenko (2017 Roland Garros final)
