Discovery Networks Finland broadcasts the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 on its channels in February. Men´s ice-hockey will be broadcasted on TV5 and Eurosport channels with exclusive rights. All team Finland´s men´s ice-hockey games, semifinals and finals will be seen live on TV5. Eurosport will broadcast all ice-hockey games. All games will be commentated by Oskari Saari and JP Jalo, and Saari will take responsibility of the Finland’s games.

Oskari Saari is best known for his 10-year-career as a beloved F1-commentator. However, ice-hockey has also belonged to his repertoire over the years. Nowadays Saari is more involved in production side. The fact that Saari has been appointed as an ice-hockey commentator means fast return for him on tv-screen, as he will become a front figure of the most watched sport entertainment.

JP Jalo is known for his iconic voice from radio and TV from the last three decades. Jalo has been commentating several ice-hockey world championships as well as World Cup in 2004. Jalo’s professional commentating have been heard on Eurosport since last summer.

He is a professional with wide knowledge and it’s always a pleasure to work with him. Jalo’s experience is in the league of its own and it is wonderful to have his skills as part of our Olympic team. I believe that Oskari and JP as well as their expert guests will rise Olympic experience to the highest possible level as far as ice-hockey is concerned”, says Antti Haajanen, Sport Manager of Discovery Networks Finland.

TV5 will also broadcast a two-hour highlight show every day in peak prime time 19.00-21.00 showcasing the most interesting events of PyeongChang 2018. On Eurosport and Eurosport Player the subscribers will have a unique possibility to watch all of the Olympic Winter Games with any device and from many different angles live. Discovery will be announcing other commentators, experts and studio hosts at later time.

Discovery Communications acquired vast television and multimedia rights in Europe for the 2018-2024 Olympic Games. In Finland Discovery has made a sublicensing agreement with Yle for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and the Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.  The agreement states that Discovery will have exclusive rights to broadcast all of men´s ice-hockey and other Olympic programming in the prime time slot 19-21. In the Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Discovery will have, in addition to all rights, exclusive rights to two sports announced later.
