McEnroe has been a regular face on Eurosport for the past four years, providing his unique insights from Melbourne, Paris and New York, and this year he will also be part of the Eurosport team at The Championships, Wimbledon, for the very first time.

McEnroe’s new agreement starts at the Australian Open where Eurosport will screen 300 hours of action with every minute live and exclusive from 16 courts at Melbourne Park. A re-vamped Game, Schett and Mats – starring seven-time Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander and Barbara Schett – from a brand new mixed-reality studio.

McEnroe, in his alter-ego as the Commissioner of Tennis, will return to Eurosport’s flagship show as he takes an offbeat look at the storylines making the headlines from the world of tennis.

During the Australian Open, McEnroe will be joined by fellow legends Boris Becker and Mats Wilander for a series of exclusive Tennis Legends vodcasts from Melbourne where the duo will give tennis fans in Europe their latest thoughts and reflections from the tournament. In addition to the coverage from the main draw, Eurosport will show a record 13 courts from the Australian Open qualifying tournament on Eurosport and Eurosport Player. Eurosport will also build up to the first Grand Slam of the year by screening live action of the Brisbane International and Sydney International.

A staggering 20.7million viewers tuned in to watch the 2017 Australian Open classic between Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal while the performances of Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki in 2018 saw average audience numbers rocket in Romania (+70%) and Denmark (+64%) compared with the year previous.
