LOCALISED, WORLD-CLASS CONTENT REAPING REWARDS FOR EUROSPORT IN ROMANIA
Eurosport’s commitment to showcasing premium, exclusive and localised live sport coverage continues to pay dividends in Romania. During a summer of growing audiences across all screens, last week Eurosport registered record-breaking audience numbers for its coverage of the Ladies’ Singles Final and Gentlemen’s Singles Final at The Championships, Wimbledon.
Simona Halep’s imperious display over Serena Williams on Saturday saw a 110% increase in average audience numbers on Eurosport Romania, compared with Williams’ final against Angelique Kerber 12 months previously.
Halep’s appearance in the flagship event on the grass court calendar contributed to the second best program ever on Eurosport in Romania, bettered only by the 2018 Australian Open ladies’ final against Caroline Wozniacki.
Eurosport’s coverage of the dramatic five-set Gentlemen’s Final between eventual champion Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer was the tenth best programme ever in Romania, and the best not featuring local hero Simona Halep.
Eurosport screened live coverage of The Championships from Wimbledon in 33 countries across Europe, with total exclusivity in Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Romania, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine and partial exclusivity in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Netherlands
