JENS VOIGT, EUROSPORT CYCLING EXPERT
Jens Voigt is one of the most popular German professional cyclists in recent years, chiefly due to his attacking, combative riding style.
Voigt has ridden in numerous special jerseys in major tours: In 2001, he donned the yellow jersey for the first time in the Tour de France, and most recently he wore the jersey of the best mountain specialist for one day in the 2014 Tour. The former CSC & Trek rider won two stages in the Tour de France and one in the Giro d'Italia. He took overall victory in the Tour of Germany in 2006 and 2007.
Voigt also competed in a total of three Olympic Games: Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. Since the end of his active career, he has worked as a TV pundit and as an advisor to cycling teams. For Eurosport, Voigt reported as an expert on numerous races last year and extended his commitment in 2020. Voigt will be the key cycling expert at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and at the Grand Tours for Eurosport Germany.
