FIE CONTINUES PARTNERSHIP WITH WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY TO SCALE FENCING COVERAGE TO VIEWERS ACROSS EUROPE AND ASIA
- New 360° partnership with the FIE sees WBD continue as official broadcaster in Europe and Asia for the world’s most renowned fencing events
- Fencing action will be brought to millions of viewers through Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max
- Building on a successful long-term collaboration, WBD will handle global rights distribution, sponsorship sales and editorial and social media content production to elevate the sport’s profile and grow its global audience
The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has agreed a new long-term partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), continuing their successful collaboration to broadcast all major events on the international fencing calendar to 75 markets across Europe and Asia.
This includes comprehensive live coverage of the FIE World Championships across Europe, the FIE European Championships across Europe and Asia as well as highlights of the of the epée, foil and sabre FIE Grand Prix circuits across Europe and Asia. Audiences can watch coverage on Eurosport (across Europe and Asia) and TNT Sports (UK and Ireland), with streaming available on HBO Max in Europe.
As part of the partnership, WBD will heighten visibility of the sport by producing highlights and editorial features for its channels and platforms. It will also collaborate with the FIE to strengthen fencing’s social media presence, expand its reach, and attract new audiences through dedicated social clips and branded content on the Road to LA28.
The agreement positions fencing alongside other world-class sports within WBD’s diverse live sports portfolio and further demonstrates its commitment to the growth of Olympic sports, telling athlete stories all year-round and offering more Olympic sports coverage than any other broadcaster.

WBD plans to capitalise on the huge audiences watching its coverage of every fencing event held at the iconic Grand Palais in Paris during the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Fencing was observed as one of the most popular sports in key territories such as France, Italy and Hungary while fencing video content, news and analysis attracted millions of visitors to Eurosport’s websites across Europe.
