EUROSPORT TEAM UP WITH TWIN ATLANTIC TO LAUNCH “FUEL YOUR SUMMER”
Eurosport, the number one sports destination in Europe, has launched its “Fuel Your Summer” campaign. The film, which brings to life the excitement and passion of sports fans, showcases the world class line-up of events that will be shown on Eurosport this summer.
To bring the emotion of the campaign to life, Eurosport has partnered with emerging Scottish rock band Twin Atlantic and adopted their hit song “Heart and Soul” as the campaign anthem.
The new summer campaign builds on Eurosport’s rebrand in November which has transformed and revitalised the sports destination to focus on fuelling the passion of fans in Europe.
The campaign video, which will be shown on all Eurosport’s TV channels and digital platforms, including Eurosport.com and the Eurosport Player, features appearances from the band as well as teasers for the major sporting events set to grace the sport’s destination in the coming months including Roland Garros, Tour de France, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Athletics Championships.
Antonio Ruiz, VP Marketing and Franchise Management at Eurosport said: “Eurosport’s re-brand in November was more than a change in look and feel. We wanted to give Eurosport a whole new tone of voice to build a unique and distinctive brand identity. Music is a vital part of that experience and goes hand-in-hand with sport.
“We want to connect with fans and fuel their passion for sport. I was already aware of Twin Atlantic and I knew they were perfect for Eurosport. They are young guys, passionate about music, passionate about sport and, importantly they write great songs. “Heart and Soul” is an uplifting and celebratory song which makes it ideal to convey our brand spirit. We are very excited to be working together.”
Twin Atlantic are a British rock band fronted by charismatic singer Sam McTrusty, with the support of Barry McKenna (guitar), Ross McNae (bass) and Craig Kneale (drums).
The quartet found initial success through the release of their 2011 album ‘Free’ featuring the hit single of the same name. That track was the featured song on the live worldwide broadcast of Felix Baumgartner’s famous Red Bull Stratos space jump.
With ‘Free’ catapulting the band to huge UK success, they certainly had to deliver on the expectations for their follow up record and deliver they did - releasing ‘Great Divide’ in August 2014 which debuted at #6 in the UK album charts. Featuring massive hit singles such as ‘Heart and Soul’, ‘Brothers and Sisters’ and ‘Hold On’, the band went on to play their biggest ever shows including a night at London’s iconic Brixton academy and their first ever headline arena show at the 10,000 capacity SSE Hydro in their beloved home town of Glasgow.
Greg Hammer, MD at Red Bull Records added: “This partnership with Eurosport is a great opportunity for Twin Atlantic. Music often becomes synonymous with sporting events and this partnership will help continue the band’s growing profile across the world on Eurosport."
Sam McTrusty from the band said: "We are happy that Eurosport collaborated with us to use “Heart and Soul” for their summer campaign. We are massive sports fans and love what Eurosport has been doing to connect with fans. The campaign turned out great."
Eurosport’s summer of sport is already underway with the second tennis Grand Slam of the season, Roland Garros, featuring tennis legends including Mats Wilander, John McEnroe, Chris Evert and Ilie Nastase giving their expert insight and analysis. Eurosport Player, the live and on demand digital service, is showing every minute from every court at the Paris tournament.
