EUROSPORT INCREASES LIVE LA VUELTA COVERAGE AND EXTENDS LOCAL PRODUCTION
Eurosport, the number one sport destination in Europe, has today announced that it will add an hour to its daily live coverage of La Vuelta, Spain’s legendary cycling race which marks the final Grand Tour race of the season. Previously broadcasting a minimum two hours a day, Eurosport has secured the rights to show a minimum three hours of live La Vuelta coverage per stage of the tour from 2016 until 2020.
La Vuelta, one of the toughest races on the calendar, will be shown exclusively across Europe and Asia* under an on-going five-year agreement. As part of the extended agreement, Eurosport has increased its live coverage to include all weekday and first hour exclusive coverage in the Netherlands, first hour exclusive in Portugal and first hour exclusive on weekdays in Australia.
This announcement further strengthens Eurosport’s position as the Home of Cycling, and its commitment to delivering premium sport content for passionate fans across its markets.
The coverage plans for 2016 and beyond include further localised production, focussing on local stars. Eurosport’s coverage will also see a continuation of fully produced stages and additional Eurosport production for viewers in the Netherlands.

With a rich history, featuring mythical and brutal climbs and delivering legendary winners over the years, La Vuelta is set to bring a thrilling three weeks of cycling action. With ten new summit finishes and twelve mountain stages, the race enjoys the added excitement that any of the riders may take home the title. Last year, the race lead changed hands eight times.
The Home of Cycling in Europe, Eurosport’s covers all three of the Grand Tours, including the Tour de France, and all five Monuments.
