London, UK  — July 8, 2019: Discovery, Inc. (“Discovery” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: DISCA, DISCB, DISCK) has appointed Paul Rehrig as General Manager, Eurosport Digital, the direct-to-consumer business unit at the leading sports destination and Home of the Olympics in Europe.

Rehrig joins Discovery and Eurosport from AMC Networks where he served for nearly eight years as EVP of Digital and Business Development. Rehrig was responsible for growing revenue from AMC Networks’ global digital partnerships and building the company’s successful direct-to-consumer subscription businesses.  In his new role at Discovery, Rehrig will oversee the development and implementation of strategies to enhance and grow Eurosport’s suite of digital direct-to-consumer products, including the Eurosport App, Eurosport Player – the only Europe-wide live sport streaming service – and Eurosport.com - Europe’s No 1 online sports news website engaging more than 30 million unique users per month.

Rehrig will report to Peter Faricy, Discovery’s CEO, Global Direct-to-Consumer, and will be based in London where he will work closely with Andrew Georgiou, who joins Discovery later this year as President, Eurosport and Global Sports Rights & Sports Marketing Solutions, as well as the Eurosport and Discovery EMEA leadership teams.

At Eurosport Digital, Rehrig will lead all aspects of a businesses that already engages millions of fans through live and on demand video streaming , highlights, and the latest news and scores around the biggest sporting events in the world. A notable event in the coming 12 months will be delivering exclusive digital access to every minute of Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 across Europe*, as well as other premium live sport throughout the year. This includes more than 2,500 hours of live cycling across 200 days, every court of every tennis Grand Slam in more than 33 markets and every major World Championship and World Cup event during the winter sports season.

During his time at AMC Networks, Rehrig built the company’s direct-to-consumer team from the outset, followed by launching and running two market-leading subscription-video-on-demand businesses: Sundance Now and Shudder. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Digital Strategy and Business Development, at Warner Music Group.
