CA TECHNOLOGIES AND EUROSPORT PARTNER TO OFFER CYCLING FANS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO RIDE WITH A PRO TEAM
Eurosport has extended its partnership with market-leading software and solutions provider, CA Technologies, who will support the delivery of the first challenge in the broadcaster’s new Home of Cycling Series campaign.
Launching today, the Home of Cycling Series consists of three individual, month-long, competitions for cyclists of all levels of experience. CA Technologies will partner with Eurosport for the first of these competitions – The 10th Rider – which challenges keen cyclists to see if they have what it takes to ride and train with a professional team. Competitors must ride a minimum of 100km in a single ride during the month, with the chance to win a place at the Trek-Segafredo training camp this December. The once-in-a-lifetime prize is provided by CA Technologies who are the Official Enterprise Software Partner of the Trek-Segafredo team.
CA Technologies support of the 10th Rider Challenge extends their role as official software partner for Eurosport's coverage of cycling’s Grand Tours, announced earlier this month. The cross-platform sponsorship and integrated technology collaboration includes the creation of an unrivalled second-screen app experience for cycling fans which launched during Eurosport’s coverage of this month’s Giro d’Italia.
Commenting on the new extended partnership with CA Technologies, Viviane Paxinos, Vice-President, International Advertising Partnerships at Eurosport, said: “Our collaboration with CA Technologies is already helping us take cycling fans closer to the peloton than ever before. Their integrated technology and software solutions are helping to deliver an enhanced second-screen experience for our fans and allowing us to provide even great insights for our viewers on all platforms. Building on this success, we are delighted that they are now partnering with us to fuel the passion of cycling fans across Europe with the 10th Rider Challenge.”
She adds: “We’ve created the Home of Cycling Series for the millions of fans who watch our coverage allowing them to live and share their passion for cycling. This campaign is another example of our commitment to the sport and we are thrilled that due to the support of CA Technologies we are able to reward our fans with some truly unique prize for the 10th Rider Challenge.”
Lauren Flaherty, chief marketing officer, CA Technologies said: “CA Technologies is delighted to extend its partnership with Eurosport for the benefit of cycling fans across Europe. Cycling is shared passion for both of our brands and we are proud to support the 10th Rider Challenge which will provide a truly amazing experience for the overall winner. Our relationship with Eurosport continues to go from strength-to-strength with our solutions helping to enhance their data integration capabilities, providing an interactive and immersive co-viewing experience for fans that truly differentiates their cycling coverage. Our collaboration now extends from cross-platform sponsorship and integrated technology solutions to support for the 10th Rider Challenge.”
Luca Guercilena, General Manager for Trek-Segafredo: “Trek-Segafredo is a data-driven team and we hope that this campaign will also connect amateur riders of all levels with the power of data. CA Technologies is one of our key partners and we are delighted to provide this money-can’t-buy prize for the 10th Rider Challenge. We look forward to welcome the winner at our training camp in December and promise a truly unique prize for cycling fans.”
Using CA API Management and CA App Experience Analytics tools, for the first time Eurosport offered a live interactive map with rider data throughout this year’s Giro d’Italia. The new tools were built into Eurosport’s existing App and mobile web products to allow fans to track the peloton every pedal of the race as well as providing select individual rider GPS and biometric data, such as their altitude, speed, power, cadence and heart rate, in real-time. Additionally, as official software partner for Eurosport's coverage of the Grand Tours, CA Technologies will also receive significant multi-platform branding through on-air and digital advertising and sponsored content.
This year Eurosport remains the number one destination in Europe for passionate cycling fans with over 200 days of live cycling and 2,300 hours of coverage across its channels. Eurosport’s unrivalled cycling calendar once again covers all three of the Grand Tours plus 25 UCI World Tour events, including all five Monuments.
